Dr. Wasiu Adebayo Hammed

Computational Chemist | Cheminformatics Researcher | AI for Molecular Discovery | Educator

I am a computational chemist and PhD-trained polymer scientist developing AI-enabled approaches for molecular discovery, cheminformatics, and sustainable materials research. My work integrates chemistry, machine learning, and data science to solve real-world scientific problems.

About Me

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Sciences at Fountain University, Nigeria, and a PhD-trained Polymer Chemist with international academic and professional experience across Nigeria, Malaysia, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

My current work bridges Chemistry, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology through applications of cheminformatics, QSAR modelling, computational toxicology, and machine learning. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Information Technology (Cheminformatics) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

I am also the Founder of the African Cheminformatics Initiative (ACI), a capacity-building platform dedicated to advancing cheminformatics education and research across Africa.
